Hello! My name is Janet and simply stated…

I am a mom, wife, sister, daughter, nurse, friend, community member, yoga instructor and now studio owner. I enjoy the many facets of life, even the ones that reveal challenges, as yoga practice for me has shown benefits and provided tools to assist in navigating the flow (maybe even the raging rapids) of life.

I discovered yoga in my earlier years of nursing school at UW-Milwaukee and fell in love with the way it made me feel, think and view the world, my surroundings. I took classes infrequently for a bit and then I found a studio that changed my relationship with yoga.

I enrolled in an IYT 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2016 at that lovely local studio in Wauwatosa WI - not with the intention of teaching, but the intention to deep dive into what yoga is - what yoga means to me. The power of yoga practice and the love/compassion/care that emanated from that yoga studio was life changing. I found myself being more mindful of daily life and the choices I make both on and off the mat.

I decided to teach once per week to maintain, study and apply all that I learned from the program. I taught at a small studio in Bayview for a few years and I found such a rich connection to the lovely people that allowed me to guide their practice. I felt as though I was able to share tools that have helped me physically, mentally and emotionally in a comforting and welcoming environment. I also learned so much more - about how to help guide others toward their own health and wellness.

What I found as I continued on this journey was: #1 - I AM HUMAN!! Acceptance ;) and also….

Every being in this world deserves to live their best life,

Every being in this world deserves love and kindness,

Every being in this world has a soul - Be Kind to their Essence.

After moving to Door County in 2019 and battling the pandemic alongside the rest of our world, I decided that I wanted to help outside of my nursing practice: pausing my practice December of 2021. I sought to help people, needed a new approach and wanted to put ‘both feet in’ to helping others find physical and mental health - as defined by the individual. I opened Kind Soul Yoga studio May 8th 2022 to welcome others to have a place to connect, be comfortable, feel good and heal physically, mentally and emotionally. AND I also want to share that space with other wellness providers who are drawn to helping and guiding all beings to feel welcome, at home within themselves as well as connected to each other.

Kind Soul Yoga studio welcomes you to feel “at home” and comfortable to practice and share in a community that values your health and wellbeing.

Meet Courtney Demmin

Courtney Demmin hails from Door County, WI and went to Gibraltar Elementary, Middle, and High School. Upon completing two years at UW-Green Bay, she moved back to the area and discovered her passion for yoga after finding Yoga With Adriene on YouTube. She has since been implementing yoga, pranayama, and meditation into her daily life. After losing a close family member in the early days of 2023, Courtney decided to enroll in an online 200-hour yoga teacher training program through YogaRenew in March 2023. She completed the program in July 2023 and got her start by teaching outdoor yoga classes. Courtney firmly believes  that everyone would benefit from a regular yoga practice and warmly invites you to attend a class with herself or Janet at Kind Soul to move your body, explore your breath, and open your heart to find inner peace and wellness.
